Tucumcari offers a wide range of cuisines and atmospheres.
New Mexican Cuisine varies from Mexican Cooking as most people are familiar and Tucumcari has the spice and heat!!
there are two hot sauces :
red and green. If you want to sound like a local you say "Christmas" for both.
Many restaurants are walkable from the Castle and others are a bit of a hike . Tucumcari is about 3 miles wide and we are in the center so nothing is much further than 1.5 miles away.

outdoor recreation: we have two large reservoirs that are very large with year round fishing and boating, Ute lake just 25 minutes northeast and Conchas Lake is 35 mins
Tucumcari Municipal Golf course has 9 challenging hole with carts
5 mile park has a shooting range , disc golf course and hiking trails
Three museums including a world class Dinosaur Museum, a Historic Museum , and a Railroad Museum.

Speaking of night we have fabulous dark skies - constellations and the Milkyway!! we have been graced with Northern Lights visiable with the naked eye here out with the Mesas and cactus!
